The work
behind Kinesema.

A place to explore the tools, studies and technical foundations behind Kinesema’s Deaf-first sign-language technology.

Start with an open hand—a form you can turn, examine and look at more closely.

The wider work

Language. Form. Motion.

Kinesema is developing technology for Singapore Sign Language (SgSL). Language, the hand and movement are three connected parts of that work, at different stages.

LANGUAGE / PRIVATE DEVELOPMENT

Understanding a sentence

We’re developing a language parser privately, exploring English sentence structure and written SgSL representations for linguistic review. The interactive parser is not publicly available.

Exploring the hand

The open hand is ready to explore here. We’re still refining the model and developing its handshapes.

MOTION / FUTURE CONNECTION

Connecting language and movement

The longer goal is a signing avatar that brings together handshape, movement and expression. Connecting it to reviewed language is future work.

Making a model move and making a sign understandable are different tasks. Handshapes and signs need Deaf and SgSL linguistic review.
